The country inn is quietly located on the outskirts of Ottrau. Situated amidst the low mountain range, the inn is an ideal starting point to visit Kassel, the halb-timbered town Alsfeld or Eisenach with Castle Wartburg. The Golf Club Oberaula-Bad Hersfeld is only 2.5 km away.

The country inn Kalkbergschänke is characterised by a long tradition for it is in family ownership since 1898. The house features six cosy, newly built and comfortable guestrooms. In the Hessian restaurant competition, the in-house restaurant was awarded in the country inn category and received the highest rating in the Schwalm-Eder district.
